Good parking information can be found at www.houstondowntown.com. There you will find a great new parking map with rates and other information. For a direct link to that map click here. Be sure to read through the Parking Tips page accessed by clicking here. There are also links to a list of parking lots and a list of parking garages with the address, rates and contact info.

The City’s web site, www.HoustonParking.org contains a lot of information about parking. Begin by reading their Frequently Asked Questions page. You will find info about the new parking meters.

Reminders:

  • The only day you do not have to pay the meter to park on the street between 7 AM and 6 PM is Sunday. Payment is required to park on the street at a metered block Monday through Saturday between those hours.
  • Watch carefully for parking spaces with a meter with a red top. Those are “Commercial Loading and Unloading Zones”. The amount of time you can buy if you pay the meter is short and very expensive. If you do not pay or the time runs out the citations are also VERY expensive at $250--if paid on time.
